Dual-sex urethral catheterization trainers bundle for safe, repeatable instruction in indwelling (Foley) and intermittent catheterization. Realistic external genitalia with anatomically correct meatus, urethra, bladder and fluid return for verification. Instructional simulators; not medical devices.

Training capability

• Male model

  • Glans/foreskin, penile shaft, scrotum; full-length urethra with palpable external sphincter resistance.

  • Transparent bladder with urine return on correct entry; balloon inflation chamber; allows demonstration of securement and drainage.

• Female model

  • Vulva with labia majora/minora and realistic urethral meatus separate from vaginal introitus.

  • Short urethra to bladder with fluid return; balloon inflation chamber.

Learning objectives

• Aseptic preparation and draping; catheter size selection (12–18 Fr compatible); lubrication principles.

• Anatomy recognition: male length/curvature, female meatal location, relation to vagina; navigating the external urethral sphincter.

• Confirmation of intravesical position (free flow → advance slightly → inflate); connection to closed drainage and fixation.

• Removal technique, intermittent catheterization workflow, specimen collection, and troubleshooting (no flow, resistance, urethral trauma avoidance).

• Communication and privacy skills for OSCE stations.
