Clinical use
Dual-sex urethral catheterization trainers for teaching Foley and intermittent catheterization. Cross-sectioned pelvic anatomy provides direct visualization of the urethra, bladder neck, prostate (male), and female urethral meatus to reinforce safe technique and troubleshooting. Instructional simulators; not medical devices.

Training objectives

• Aseptic setup, draping, analgesia/lubrication, catheter selection (12–18 Fr).

• Male: navigation of penile → bulbar → membranous → prostatic urethra, recognition of external urethral sphincter resistance, advancement into the bladder before balloon inflation.

• Female: accurate identification of the urethral meatus vs vaginal introitus, short urethral passage, correct depth before inflation.

• Verification of intravesical placement, connection to closed drainage, fixation, removal, and intermittent catheterization workflow.

• Complication avoidance: false passage, urethral trauma, hemorrhage, catheter-associated UTI prevention counselling.
