Learning objectives
Identify carpal bones (scaphoid, lunate, triquetrum, pisiform, trapezium, trapezoid, capitate, hamate), metacarpals, and phalanges; orient MCP/PIP/DIP joints.
Demonstrate ligamentous stabilizers (UCL/RCL at MCPs, volar plates, scapholunate and lunotriquetral complexes, TFCC concept).
Correlate common pathology: scaphoid fracture, distal radius fracture, De Quervain’s, trigger finger, mallet finger, skier’s thumb (UCL tear), carpal tunnel syndrome, RA/OA changes.
OSCE tasks: bony landmark identification, ligament testing principles, carpal tunnel boundaries/contents, surface anatomy of anatomical snuffbox.
Specifications
Scale: life-size; material: Medical Grade PVC; individual labeled bases.
Charts: heavy-gauge lamination (dry-wipe), top/bottom rollers.
Care: wipe with mild detergent or 70% alcohol; avoid solvents/heat.
Intended use: instructional models for orthopaedics, plastic/hand surgery, physiotherapy, UG/PG anatomy.
