Clinical use
Bench-top simulator for acquisition and repetition of perineal/vulvar repair skills following obstetric lacerations or episiotomy. Designed for OSCEs, residency bootcamps, midwifery and skills labs.
Anatomic & material design
Realistic external genitalia with pre-formed laceration patterns (midline/mediolateral and periurethral) to rehearse defect assessment and layered closure.
Triply reinforced construct: skin–subcutaneous–mucosal layers with three embedded mesh strata to mimic fascia and provide lifelike needle purchase, bite security, and suture holding strength.
Medical-grade, latex-free elastomer with hemostasis pockets that tolerate infiltration and instrument handling; resists tearing and suture cut-through.
Skills supported
Infiltration planning, wound toilet, anatomical identification (posterior fourchette, perineal body, vaginal mucosa).
Layered repair: vaginal mucosa → perineal muscles/fascia → skin using continuous locking, interrupted, figure-of-eight, and subcuticular techniques.
Knot tying, tension control, tissue eversion, hemostatic bites, and avoidance of OASIS.
Works with standard 2-0/3-0 absorbable sutures on 3/8-circle needles.
Operational details
Reusable for multiple sessions.
Rigid backing for two-handed instrument technique; portable, bench-top footprint.
Package contents
1 × multilayer vulva/perineum suture pad (premium 3-mesh construction) mounted on base.
Intended users
OB-GYN and family medicine residents, midwives, nursing programs, simulation centers, and childbirth educator courses.
